This is a Lightroom 3 preset created by me.

Please Note: This is not a preset pack, the differnt colours (purple & yellow) are determined by the tones (cold & warm) in your photo. This means you cannot choose to go with purple, your photo alone will determin this.

Before I download this and use it, I must ask: is this created with the RAW photographer in mind or does it work on Jpeg to?

I only shoot RAW because of all of it's advantages. It should work on JPEG, but I wouldn't trust the previews as your camera actually edits the JPEG's in camera for you which means they are already altered when you get them on your computer. That being said with those alterations already done I can't say how this will work with them. It's a free download so it can't hurt to try anyways.

Well, I asked because I did download some presets which were only for jpegs. (Or so the author claimed)
You are right, it can't hurt to try. ;-)

Thank you for your answer! :-)
Oh, ever thought about making presets for studio shots? Or indoor stuff?
Since winter is coming and most model photographers without a studio will start to shoot indoors.
I could create them myself, but I am to lazy and don't understand enough of the mechanics behind it. :o

I haven't really though much about doing indoor/studio presets. Mainly because I don't do studio work currently, not having one is a big contributor to that. Though I think I will be starting to do more of that next semester in school, so we'll see what happens.

As for the others I use them for indoor shots too, when I take them that is. They are more so made with "natural light" in mind.

I make presets because I am lazy! lol It's just easy to save settings I like rather then try to replicate them again at a later day. :P To make them you pretty much edit you photo, then go...

Develop (on the window tool bar) > new preset > name it and done! lol.

Well, one warning:
studio photography is cool. But after a while you get confronted with the "emptiness", the walls around you, the lack of natural lighting.
Then you have to go out and do your old stuff and THEN come back. It's... refreshing. :)

It's been awhile since I used natural lighting.
Indoor that is.
I'll have to make work of it some day and see what your presets are capable of. :p

lol, good enough reason for me.
I thought it was harder then that. o.O
If it's that easy, then by the gods, I can do that to! xD

lol, just kidding.
The thing that is stopping me, is the fact that every shoot, every location is different.
Sure, you can finetune it, but I know that when I start fiddling, I'm making a whole new preset as the one I loaded. So I often try one, or two, or even three... and most of the time I create a whole new one.
Almost every freaking time.

Oh, how I hate myself for not being orderly. :p

Yeah that's my hesitation to studio work. I know each has its time and place, so I'm looking forward to trying, but feel that I'll always have a soft spot for natural light.

I adjust all my presets a bit when I use them. Like you said every shoot is different. I find with nature photography you can get away with adjusting less then with portraits. But to think that one preset can do everything perfect every time is foolish. I even write in the "read me" (if anyone reads those) that you likely will have to make a few adjustments depending on the photo.

Well, the way I am changing my ratio is 2 to 8 or something.
Meaning for every 8 times I shoot outside, I will go back to my studio 2 times.

Hehe, indeed, it is foolish to believe. :)
